Shipping Update #6 and Live Playthrough

Hello Canopy Backer!

I am back today with a quick update and some good news! 

US and Canada

The games destined for the tables of backers in the US and Canada have finally left port! After a month sitting and waiting, the games are finally on a truck and headed to the fulfillment center. Trucking is a little complicated and the truck will be delivering games to our retail distribution partner in St. Louis, before continuing on to the final destination of Maryland.  The route the games are taking is slightly circuitous, and I am not thrilled with the amount of truck transport being used, but they should be arriving at our fulfillment partner Flying Cloud Fulfillment by October 28th at the latest. 

Once the games arrive all orders should be shipped out within a week and a half and take a week or less to arrive. So if everything goes smoothly the games will arrive to the fulfillment center by the end of October and start shipping out the first week in November. Shipping should be complete by the 2nd week in November and backers in the US should have games delivered by November 22nd at the latest, with games arriving to Canadian backers before the end of November. This is much later than planned for delivery so thank you all for your patience and understanding.

LAST CHANCE TO UPDATE ADDRESSES

We will be sending the final shipping address list to the fulfillment center on October 28th so the final deadline for backers in the US and Canada to update your address will be October 27th. Addresses in Backerkit are locked so please email me directly at [email protected] if you need to update your address. 

Games in Europe

Many backers across Europe have already received their games. If your game has not arrived yet do not fear. I spoke with our European fulfillment partner and she informed me that they have been processing orders all this week and the last games will be shipped out from the warehouse by tomorrow afternoon. So if you haven't received a tracking number yet, you should have one by the end of day tomorrow. Most games should arrive by the end of next week. If you have not received a tracking email or your game by October 29th please contact me and I will check on your order. 

Live Playthrough

I've sent out a number of review copies of Canopy and tonight I'll be joining Stella Jahja from Meeple University for a live playthrough on Tabletop Simulator. Stella is a very talented content creator and it should be a fun playthrough of the game. If you'd like to watch it will be live at 5PM PST on You Tube here: Canopy Live Playthrough

I am so excited that the games are all moving towards backers and that we have final delivery of games in sight. I'll be back with another Update once the games in the US and Canada start shipping out, but until then enjoy games and nature and friends!

Shipping Update, Localized Rulebooks and Birdwatcher

Hi Canopy Friend!

Today I have a quick update on shipping progress, links to the localized rulebooks in other languages, and a heads up about a new game on Kickstarter that I think will appeal to many of you. 

Shipping 

• EU - The games bound for the EU arrived in Hamburg, Germany last week and they began shipping them right away. If you have not received your game yet, be on the lookout as they should be arriving this week or next. 
• USA and Canada - Unfortunately, these games are still at the port of Long Beach, which is currently one of the most congested ports in the world. Ack! My shipping agent informed me that the port is not going to charge us additional fees for the extra days of storage at the port, which is good, but the games are still inaccessible. I'm still hopeful that we'll get access to them this week or next and then be on track to ship out to y'all by late October or early November. 
• All other destinations - I have no new information that wasn't already shared in the previous updates on shipments to all other locations.  Most shipments to countries in Asia and Oceania should be arriving by the end of this month, and shipments to South America should be arriving in November or December. 

Localized Rulebooks

We have been fortunate to garner interest from a number of publishers in other countries and Canopy is being published in German, French, Hungarian, Czech and Polish. For backers who would like a pdf of the rulebook in one of those languages you can follow the link below to download them.

Italian Rulebook : Three very generous and hardworking backers created a translated pdf of the rulebook in Italian. You can download it here on BGG: Italian Rulebook 

German Backers - Looking through the German language rulebook it appears that Kosmos did not include all of the same components in their version of the game. It is missing the solo and 3-4 player variants, and the Shifting Seasons variants. I was under the impression that it would be identical to our retail version, so I apologize for the differences if you chose to switch. If you opted to cancel your pledge to get the German language version but feel that you will miss these variants please contact me at [email protected] 

Birdwatcher

There is a new game on Kickstarter that launched today with a wonderful nature theme, beautiful art and very smooth and interesting gameplay. My brother Ben, who helps design and develop all of Weird City Games projects, is one of the project leads and developers for this game being Kickstarted by Oni Press and I am very excited for the game, and what I am sure will be a very well run campaign. 

I have playtested Birdwatcher several times and loved it! It is a set collection game, with lots of interesting twists and variations that make for a very fun gaming experience, and the art for the game is gorgeous. Check out the Birdwatcher Kickstarter here: Birdwatcher Kickstarter

Shipping Update #5

Hi Canopians!

I'm back with another update on shipping for all regions. Good news is that games have been moving forward towards all destinations (albeit sometimes very slowly). I don't have hard and fast timelines for North America yet, but I do have some rough estimates. Read on for details on all locations. 

As games are arriving in the UK and parts of Asia, if anyone has any customer service needs such as parts replacement or rules clarifications please email me at [email protected]

Europe - The boat carrying all the games bound for the EU has docked in Hamburg, Germany and has cleared customs. They are still waiting to unload the container but our shipping partner expects to deliver to the fulfillment center sometime next week. It will take about a week for our fulfillment partner to process the games once they are received, but they will hopefully be shipping out by mid-October.

USA and Canada - After waiting for over 10 days anchored in the Long Beach harbor the boat carrying the games was finally able to dock. It is currently pending offloading and will be moved to a enclosed area of the port where it will be picked up by trucks to be carried to our fulfillment partner. Trucking is another aspect of the transportation system that is under incredible strain right now and they have advised me that it could be anywhere from 1-3 weeks before it can get loaded onto a truck.  Once picked up it should take a little less than a week to get to the fulfillment center and will ship out within a week of arriving. So we are tentatively looking at games shipping out sometime between mid-October and mid-November in the US and a week or two later in Canada.  Thank you all for your incredible patience and I'll post another update once the games are on a truck. 

UK - Games in the UK started shipping out last week. If you haven't received yours yet please check your email for a notification from our fulfillment partner Spiral Galaxy. If you haven't received your game(s) by October 8th please email me at [email protected].

Rest of the World - I just found out that our fulfillment partner VFI's website lists the estimates for each Hub country. You can check it out here for up to date info - http://vfi.asia/hubs/

Once the games arrive at the Hub it usually takes about a week for them to ship out. 

All countries in South America have an estimated delivery of November or December. For any other countries not listed above your games should arrive in November.

Hello Canopy Backer!

I am back with more shipping news! Read on below for an updated timeline for each region. 

USA and Canada - The games made it out of port and are currently on the vessel Wan Hai 623 crossing the Pacific Ocean en route to Long Beach, California. They are scheduled to arrive on September 12th. They will likely spend about 2 weeks in customs and getting transloaded to trucks to take them to the fulfillment center in Des Moines.  We are a few days behind the previous timeline, but I am still hoping that games will arrive to backers in the US by mid to late October, and to backers in Canada in early November.  

LAST CHANCE TO UPDATE ADDRESSES: I will begin locking addresses for the USA and Canada on September 20th. If you need to update your address this is your final opportunity.  You can visit the Backerkit site using this link to update your addresses - https://www.backerkit.com/ 

EU - We are slightly behind schedule on this shipment as well. Not sure how it got delayed for two weeks but currently the vessel Umm Qarn is expected to arrive in Hamburg on Sept 22nd and should file entry to German Customs before the end of September.  So games will likely start shipping out to EU backers by mid-October.  

UK - Good news on this one! UK Customs are cleared and appointment to pick up the games from port is set for Sept 10th. So we should be keeping to the schedule from the previous update and have games shipping out to backers by mid to late September.  So be on the lookout for shipping confirmation emails from Spiral Galaxy in the next few weeks.

Rest of the World - Our timeline for shipments to all other points on the globe have not changed. I forgot to include South America in the last update and have added it below. 

•  South America - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and should arrive to backers by December. Shipments to Brazil can take much longer but we are hoping to have all games delivered by the end of the year. 
•  CN, HK, MO and Taiwan - Games have shipped out to backers!
•  Japan, South Korea - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around October 10th.
•  Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Phillipines, Thailand - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around October 20th.
•  Indonesia - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around November 7th.

Hi Canopy Backer! 

Well shipping hasn't gotten any easier since the last update and the shipment to the US and Canada has been delayed, but I have updated timelines and shipping info for all regions below. I have broken the update into sections based on regions so you can just read the part that applies to your region and you'll have all the info. 

USA and Canada

The shipping rollercoaster continues with this portion of the games. We had a scheduled berth on a ship and a 40' container that was supposed to leave on August 11th and arrive August 28th in Long Beach, California. Unfortunately, my shipping agent informed me on August 15th that the games had not actually made it on that boat and were rescheduled for a ship that is leaving on August 24th and should arrive on September 8th. He says the likelihood that we would get bumped twice are very small so I am staying optimistic and keeping my fingers crossed. 

Once the games arrive in the US, they will be transloaded onto a truck to take them to the fulfillment center. This will likely take about 2 weeks, so games should arrive at the fulfillment center by the end of September. Once at the fulfillment center games will ship out within 5-7 days and should arrive 5-7 days after they are shipped. So with luck we will have games arriving to backers in the US by mid-October. Shipments to backers in Canada will take slightly longer. Depending on the situation at the border the Canadian shipments will take anywhere from 1-4 extra weeks to arrive. 

Last Chance to Change Addresses for EU and UK

For backers in the EU, UK you have 2 weeks to update your addresses and then they will be locked. To check your address you can visit https://www.backerkit.com/backer_accounts/sign_in

If you need any help updating your address please let me know.  I will be locking all addresses on Backerkit on September 1st. I'll send out emails from Backerkit 48 hours before the addresses are locked. 

EU

Games bound for backers in the EU are scheduled to arrive in Germany at the end of this month. They should be at our fulfillment partner Fulfillment EU by the middle of September and will begin shipping out within one week. So games will hopefully be arriving to EU backers the last week of September or first week of October. 

FINAL REMINDER: If you live in Germany, France, Poland, Hungary or the Czech Republic and would like a refund on your pledge so you can purchase the game in your own language please email me at [email protected] no later than August 25th.  For more details on localized versions see Update #40.

UK

Games headed to backers in the UK will hopefully arrive to our fulfillment partner Spiral Galaxy by September 10th. They usually have about a week turnaround before they start shipping games so we will hopefully have games in the post to backers by September 20th and arriving to backers in the last 2 weeks of September. 

Asia, South America, and Beyond

The games at VFI arrived and are getting prepped for shipping. This ended up taking way longer than expected and the shipping timetable is a bit longer than anticipated. This was partly due to a slight delay as they ordered more environmentally friendly packing materials. Here are the current estimates for when games will arrive to backers in specific locations:

• CN, HK, MO and Taiwan - Games should ship out in the next week and arrive shortly after. 
• Japan, South Korea - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around October 10th.
• Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Phillipines, Thailand - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around October 20th.
• Indonesia - These will ship out to the local hubs in mid-September and arrive to backers around November 7th.
